We are a world of indoor and outdoor fun that is always free to visit. Our one-of-a-kind historic Playhouse offers three floors of interactive play. Our 6 1/2 acre Playground has multiple zones for climbing, swinging, spinning and exploring as well as our famous Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide—a Philadelphia tradition.

Please Note: Smith Memorial Playground is always closed on Mondays.

Exciting Things are Happening!
Our Front Gateway Project is now underway, creating a more welcoming, accessible, and safer entrance for all families. Construction will include new pathways, clearer wayfinding, improved parking flow, and an updated front lawn experience that reflects Smith’s commitment to inclusion and play.
Thank you for your patience during this temporary disruption as we work to build a better, more accessible Smith for generations to come.

Smith Rocks! - Now Open
The newest Smith Play-Stallation has rolled in!
Young geologists can unleash their inner geologist with hands-on fun! They'll build towering structures out of papier-mâché boulders, explore real rocks and minerals, and play a round of geology bingo. For an extra challenge, children can test their balance and agility in a “floor is lava” adventure, hopping from stepping stones to balance beams. And the highlight? A five-foot-tall scarf cannon that blasts bursts of colorful “magma” straight from its core!
Come check out Smith Rocks until December 31, 2025 on the first floor of the Playhouse in the Bodek Den.
